Deep within the pressure grows
Darkness bubbles up below
Like a volcano setting up to blow
The stress of it all about to let go
One little hiccup will push it over
A small flicker and the mount explodes
Those closest hurt by the fallout
Burned beyond for such a small unrelated role
While the pressure subsides, the guilt grows
Darkness slowly fades into depression
A coat of regret wraps like a cocoon,
like a wreath of sadness for those who were hurt
Now the long slow healing begins
Hurts that slow scab over
Longing for the pain to be forgotten
For the hurt to become no more
