The Apostle Paul’s words to the Philippians offer us a powerful reminder that the Christian life is not one of passive waiting but of active pursuit. He uses the imagery of a race—one that requires discipline, effort, and, most importantly, direction. Paul wasn't coasting through life; he was pressing on with purpose.
When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples,
they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls
of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and
saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.
And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
