It’s time to stop denying that we are in the midst of a quickly intensifying spiritual battle. Don’t think that I am coming at you with a pointing finger. I am speaking to myself more than anyone else. I admit, I’ve been denying to some degree how much this spiritual battle has grown. I tell men that I am willing to storm the gates of hell with them, but my life really has not reflected that. How much more could I be doing? How many more battles could I be fighting on my Lord’s behalf? Things have to change.
What finally got me to this point where I am angry enough to be motivated to truly go all in? Two very clear examples of how much our world devalues life. It started earlier this week with the brutal senseless murder of a young Ukrainian female on a train in Charlotte, NC. Follow that with the brutal murder of Charlie Kirk today at a University in Utah and that’s what pushed me over the edge.
Up until this week, I knew there was a spiritual battle going on, and on a couple of occasions I had the opportunity to fight that battle, literally on the front lines. But I wasted so much time that could have been spent engaging in this battle on every possible front.
As I just heard podcaster Steve Deace say, It is now on the men of Gen X and Boomers, to pick up the mantle and step up. Something we should have done long ago. It’s time to get off our a**es and enter the battle. It requires harnessing a justifiable anger and channeling it into whatever God calls us to do. He is our Lord and it’s our calling to obey whatever He is calling us to do. Perfect Love casts out fear so when we are following His orders we have nothing to be afraid of. We are immortal till He determines our time is up and we have fulfilled our calling. So start acting like it. Fight with everything you have, and when you get tired, suck it up and keep fighting more.
